Dr. DARIO SLEJKO

Dario Slejko was born in Trieste in 1949 and graduated in mathematics from Trieste University in 1979. He has been working at the Istituto di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale (OGS) of Trieste since 1972, firstly as a seismologist for the World Wide Standardized Seismographic Network station and later as a researcher in seismology and engineering seismology. From 1996 to 2000, he was Director of the OGS seismological department and he currently holds the position of Research Director of the Institute He was chairman of the sub-commission on "Engineering Seismology" of the European Seismological Commission from 1996 to 2002 and director of the Italian "Gruppo Nazionale di Geofisica della Terra Solida" since 1998; he has also been active as a member of the scientific board of the Italian National Research Council
