Michael Griffith is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Adelaide in South Australia. He obtained his PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley (1988) after completing both his BSc(Eng.) and MSc (Eng.) degrees in Civil Engineering at Washington State University in the US. Dr. Griffith is a member of the Standards Australia committee currently revising the Australian Earthquake Loading Code and he is also a member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, state committee member of the SA Structural College and Past-President of the Australian Earthquake Engineering Society. His main professional and research interests are in the field of earthquake engineering and structural dynamics. He has co-authored two book chapters and published over 90 research papers in the field of structural engineering. Further information can be found.
